FosterCareRecruitment -- A list for sharing ideas on recruiting foster parents for immigrant and refugee children

The purpose of this list service is to provide a forum for communication amongst foster parent recruiters and licensors, specifically those that serve immigrant and refugee children. Currently, this listserv is only available to LIRS affiliates providing foster care to URM and DUCS children. As foster parent recruitment is such a challenging job - requiring constant creativity, adaptation, and assessment for effectivenees - we hope you will use this listserv to share ideas, successes, and lessons learned; ask questions and request guidance; and share best practices and assessment outcomes, etc. We ask all members to agree to comply to the following basic guidelines: 1) Maintain respectful communication with other listserv members 2) Only use this listserve for the purposes intended - communication regarding foster parent recruitment for immigrant and refugee children 3) Do not post confidential client information To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the FosterCareRecruitment Archives.
Using FosterCareRecruitment
To post a message to all the list members, send email to fostercarerecruitment@lists.lirs.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to FosterCareRecruitment
Subscribe to FosterCareRecruitment by filling out the following form. This is a closed list, which means your subscription will be held for approval. You will be notified of the list moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
